Coffee: The Ultimate Pick Me Up

Share

Believe it or not, coffee is the most popular hot beverage in the world. It is estimated that over four hundred billion cups are consumed every single year. So why is it so popular? Well, psychologists argue that coffee consumption encourages our brains to release dopamine, a neurotransmitter that fills us with feelings of euphoria. The caffeine involved also perks us up, making us feel alert and awake. It’s not surprising that the majority of us will reach for a cup in the mornings when we’re prepping ourselves for the day ahead. So, seeing as we tend to love this drink so much, here’s how to craft the perfect cup!

Finding a Great Coffee Machine

Coffee is flexible. It’s the kind of beverage that you can pick up en route to the office, sit down within a lovely cafe, or even enjoy in the comfort of your own home. Now, most people think that while you can make a standard coffee in your kitchen, you do have to stray further afield for a really great cup of Joe. But this isn’t necessarily true. Sure, if you’re only armed with a kettle and some granules, you may find yourself with a bog standard brew. But if you have a high-quality coffee machine, you can get the real deal. Take a look at the Top coffee machines on the market. You should judge each machine by specific factors. Consider coffee making ability, durability, pricing, maintenance, and versatility. You can also read reviews from other customers on the market to see whether each machine performs as advertised!

Choosing the Right Beans

When it comes to coffee, there are three types of beans that are specially cultivated for human consumption. These are Coffea Arabica (better know as Arabica coffee), Coffea Canephora (or Robusta coffee), and Coffea liberica Bull (or Liberian coffee). Each type has its own distinct qualities and tastes which are reflected in the price and the popularity of each bean. They also have individual strains within the three types of beans. In fact, there are so many types of coffee out there that it could be nigh on impossible to try them all. But, your best bet at finding a coffee that’s perfect for you is trial and error. Whittle down your options until you find something that really ticks all of your boxes.

Find the Right Mug

Believe it or not, the shape and size of the mug that you serve your coffee in really can change the way your body perceives the taste of the beverage. Such simple aspects as the color of the mug your coffee is served in can trick your mind into it “tasting” differently. For example, white mugs are recommended for those who prefer bold and intense drinks. For those of us who prefer mild or sweeter drinks, darker toned mugs are recommended. Find out more about this here.

As you can see, coffee really can be quite complex. But once you’ve found your perfect machine, beans, and mug, you should be good and ready to enjoy your perfect cup!

  1. Hello ,

I saw your tweet about animals and thought I will check your website. I like it!

I love pets. I have two beautiful thai cats called Tammy(female) and Yommo(male). Yommo is 1 year older than Tommy. He acts like a bigger brother for her. 🙂
I have even created an Instagram account for them ( https://www.instagram.com/tayo_home/ ) and probably soon they will have more followers than me (kinda funny).

I have subscribed to your newsletter. 🙂

Keep up the good work on your blog.

    Regards
