What you weigh doesn’t always tell the story: Weigh in 1 of 2019.

Share

I have been fat for my entire life okay? So, it doesn’t offend me if someone calls me fat, or remarks about my double chin, or talks about my weight, because I’m used to having those thoughts myself.

Even if it doesn’t offend, I still do find it crass to remark about anyone’s weight, and their journey there. People think that because they’re behind the keyboard they can let their fingers do the talking. It’s rude.

Over the years, I have accepted my body, and found things I love about myself. It was not easy. It took years of body image issues, and eating disorders, and therapy to finally come to terms with who I am.

BUT, that doesn’t mean that I don’t have to work on what it takes to become healthier, and even though I can embrace myself, I still have to face the reality that, for my age, I’m not as healthy as I could be. I want that to change.

My blood sugar in controlled ranges these days, but my cholesterol is high, and so is my blood pressure. It’s absolutely crucial that I stay on this path.

In 2018, I lost 13 pounds. This year, I’m changing things up majorly.

I polled my insta fam and you guys said that you wanted to see the progress. So starting from this first day, I wanted to show you where I am.

I am using both intermittent fasting and the keto diet for weight loss. I’ll occasionally add exercise to the mix, but it’s not my ultimate focus at this time – I want to change my eating first, one habit at a time.

So, I’ll always post 3 three things: my progress (straight from my scale app), before and after pics, and a few reflections on the week.

I have never been good at this, and I always find a reason to quit, but this year I turn 30. I want the gift I give to myself by November to be health.

Progress – Week 1

This week I’m trying hard to build the best habits. Since I’m starting intermittent fasting and Keto all at the same time, I’m having to make sweeping changes. That’s okay with me. I think focusing in on one thing at a time is the best way to tackle this.

Let me know down below – are you trying something new for the new year? Do you need inspiration and encouragement to keep going?
